About Calm Lantern

Calm Lantern is a small, calm tool that helps people figure out if a message or link is a scam. We built it because too many people we love have been hurt by scams that any of us could have spotted with a second opinion.

You paste a text message or a link. We read it, look up the website, check it against known scam patterns, and give you a clear answer in plain English. We always tell you what we did not check, so you know the limits of our answer.

We do not give legal or financial advice. We are not the police. We are a calm second pair of eyes — fast, private, and easy to use.

Who we built this for

Older adults are the most-targeted group for phone, text, and email scams in the United States. Calm Lantern is designed for them first: big text, calm colors, plain language, and never any pressure to click or sign up. If you're a son, daughter, or friend who wants a tool to share with someone in your life, this is for you too.

What we promise
