What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a website. It lets the website remember things like whether you're signed in.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
calmlantern_session | Keeps you signed in after you click your magic-link email. Stored as an HTTP-only, secure, SameSite=Lax cookie. | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
calmlantern_terms_ack | Remembers that you've already accepted our Terms so we don't show the acceptance checkbox on every check. | 1 year | Strictly necessary |
We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising, fingerprinting, or tracking your activity on other websites.
Analytics
We may add a self-hosted analytics tool (PostHog) in the future to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. If we do, we will:
- Update this page before we enable it.
- Use only first-party cookies, no third-party tracking.
- Honor "Do Not Track" headers and let you opt out from your account.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block our session cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in.
