What you may do
- Submit text messages, emails, web links, and (in the Family plan) text us via SMS to check whether something you received looks like a scam.
- Share verdicts with friends or family members who could benefit from the same check.
- Report scams to authorities (we make this easy from the verdict page).
What you may not do
- Submit content that contains another person's private information without their permission. This includes Social Security numbers, full credit card numbers, bank account numbers, medical records, or other sensitive personal information you do not have the right to share. (Our system applies automated redaction, but the responsibility is still yours.)
- Submit copyrighted material in bulk for any purpose other than checking whether the message you received is a scam.
- Use the Service to launder, mask, or facilitate fraud, harassment, or illegal activity.
- Submit content you know or should know to be false with the intent of training the system to mislabel scams.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written permission.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits, paywalls, or authentication.
- Build a competing service by scraping, mirroring, or systematically querying our verdicts.
- Use the Service to harm other people, including by spamming, doxxing, harassing, or sending unsolicited messages.
Enforcement
If you violate this policy, we may at our discretion:
- Issue a warning.
- Throttle your account.
- Suspend your account temporarily.
- Terminate your account permanently, without refund of unused subscription time.
- Report the violation to law enforcement when required by law or warranted by the severity of the abuse.
We make these decisions case by case. We will, when reasonable, contact you before taking action so you have a chance to correct the issue.
